With my first ever One Room Challenge (the guest bedroom) complete, I indulged in a few hours of perusing as many other room transformations as I could. There are over 200 rooms bursting with creativity. Kudos to everyone who put the time and energy into this challenge. I want to give a shout out to a few rooms that inspired me.
Kristina Lynne and her lovely new kitchen
There is a lot to love about this space. First, Kristina designed the room around the barstools. I love this because it sounds exactly like something I would do. She did a great job mixing wood tones, do you agree? Second, the build in hood vent and flush cabinet doors! This is what Nick and I have been thinking about for our kitchen renovation. We will be pulling inspiration from this space for sure.
Lastly, I appreciate the subtle mix of matte black and brass between the hardware and the lighting above the sink. Her dog really fits into the design as well 😉 such a cutie!
Cate Holcome Interiors masculine bedroom
This room jumped out to me because of the plaid headboard. I spent some time deliberating over our leather headboard and now I am onto plaid. Nick sent me a picture of a San Fransisco hotel room he stayed at that had wall to wall plaid curtains… and now I want them for the dining room. Taking notes from Cate on pairing masculine plaid with brass accents like this wall sconce.
Girl and Grey powder bath
Courtney packed some serious style into this tiny bathroom. It might be my favorite one room challenge room transformation. The herringbone pattern is adorable with that awesome ostrich wallpaper.
The sink is adorable, the toilet paper holder is adorable, the Bend, OR map is adorable. Did I mention it is adorable? The wood mirror, plant stand, and toilet paper holder add a touch of warmth that really keeps the room grounded.
Bloom in the black moody living room
Nothing makes me happier then a well designed moody room and boy did Brianna pull it off. The dark walls work so well with the warmth of the leather chairs and mustard couch. Not to mention the gorgeous area rug.
The couch y’all, it is so good. The Joss and Main floor lamp is also 100% my style. The hanging sconce reminds me of the wall sconce we picked for the guest bedroom. And look, more plaid! It is a sign…
House of Brinson bathroom
Ok, no surprise here. House of Brinson killed it with their One Room Challenge room transformation. The sink along is enough for my jaw to drop. Add in that mirror and a wall of floral fossils, yaassss.
This is moody bathroom number two on my list of favorites. I had light and bright in mind for our bathroom. These are definitely making me pause and rethink.
Vestige Home master bedroom
Darn our 8 foot ceilings… they could never pull of this awesome light fixture. Nicole styled an charming room. Fireplaces in the bedroom are all the rage. Chrislovesjulia and thesweetbeast recently installed them, brepurposed has one, and thegritandpolish are drafting plans for one as well.
The mirror above the fireplace also caught my eye. Can you believe it is from Lamps Plus? It’s great.
Which were your favorite One Room Challenge rooms? Again, so much talent and creativity this go around. Kudos to all featured designers and guest participants! I certainly hope to participate again soon… which room should I do?!
